Final Reflection

Hey guys!! I can’t believe it I am finally done with this project, after 9 weeks. When I first got the project, March 25th felt so far away. Filming this project has been like a roller coaster. There were so many ups and downs.

The day my teacher told me about this project I felt so overwhelmed but I got through it. I had a bunch of different ideas at first. My top two were the rom com and a thriller. I ended up going with the Rom com because I was more familiar with that genre.

One big problem we had was when I had a family and I had to go out of town for 10 days. That moment me and my partner were both stressed but the whole time we were there we kept in touch and mostly worked on our planning so when I came back we could film right away.

The first day we filmed we got some great footage of Ethan walking on the street and the lighting was perfect but by the time we got to film Lily's part it got a little dark Figuring out what days to film was so hard. Everyone had very different schedules but we made it work.

Me and my partner both did not have much experience using Adobe premier pro but we learned and watched a bunch of tutorials together. In the past I have worked on smaller projects like my one word film, but this project made me think outside of the box and pushed me to think more creatively and work through my problems myself.

This was my first year taking an AICE class and after hearing about this project I was so nervous and I thought I could not do it and what made me feel a little worse is I have a bunch of people in my class who are amazing at these kinds of projects so after our first group meeting i was scared mine would not turn out as good at theirs but in the end its not a competition. All the group meetings were so good everyone was so supportive of each other and gave very helpful input.

Overall I am so happy how it turned out. I am so proud of myself and my partner, it was a challenge getting here but we finally did it.

Post production of CCRs

Hey guys today we are editing my CCRs and I'll be honest editing is not my strong suit but I am trying my best. The first thing I had to do was go through the 60 videos we took.

Next I worked on adjusting and cropping all the clips because half the videos would be me stuttering because I couldn't remember my lines my friends  or playing around.

To start my baking show I made a template on canva.

Production of CCRs

Hey guys for my CCRS  I had a bunch of different Ideas but I decided to go with the cooking show and my digital diary!

For my first CCR I baked a cake with my friends Kareena and Suhani. While we made the cake they asked me questions about my movie. At first it was supposed to be 4 of us so I wrote our script according to that but one of my friends cancelled on me at the last minute but we made it work. I think it was so fun to make.

We used my Iphone 14 pro to film and filmed in my kitchen. After we started baking the cake we realized we forgot some ingredients so we had to change the script a little bit. I just made it a part of my ccr and filmed one of the scenes when we got to publix.

The part we filmed at publix.

For my second CCR I did most of it on canva. My plan was to do like a digital diary. Every page I write journal entries and I did a voice over the slides explaining it in more detail.

Filming and making both CCRs was so fun I got to do it with my friends and we enjoyed the cake after.

CCR Production ideas.

Hey Blogg now that I am done answering my CCR questions I can focus on the fun part, talking about  my CCR production ideas.

#1- Okay so this idea is a little basic but still pretty good! I could do a podcast with my brother, where he asks me questions about my movie. We would film in my backyard and we could order the podcast mic to make it more professional.

This is the perfect spot to film since this is where my movie was shot.

#2-  I could pretend I am hosting a cooking show. I would be baking with my friend while she asks me questions. We would say things like - 1 cup of meet cute moments (Ethan and Lily's first encounter).

Using Canva I can make a fake recipe list.

#3- I would write a letter to my future self and then open it and answer questions and reflect on what went well? what was the hardest part?.

#4- A vlog or a day in my life. To make it more creative I would add fun text overlays or some memes.

#5- Dear Diary.. It would be a fun digital diary format as if I am writing journal entries about film making my process. I would use  hand written style fonts.

#6- I would be in my car  about to leave my house when some reporters and paparazzis stop and ask me some questions.

This is also a great spot since this is where Ethans journey starts.

I am so excited to film my CCR videos. I have so many ideas to choose from, I can't wait to see how it turns out. Stay tuned!

CCR #3

Today I am writing my script for CCR question #3.

My plan for this is that I will be in my car when all these paparazzis and reports stop me and ask me  these questions.

Interviewer- Ms Narang can we ask you some questions? A New Beginning  is trending right now. How does it feel to know your romcom is such a hit?.

Chandni- It's crazy! I still can't believe that all these people around the world like my movie.

Interviewer- Did you ever think your movie would be this big.

Chandni- Omg not at all. At first I was just focusing on getting the basics right making sure the shots were clean, and that the lighting looked good. As we kept filming I learned those little details matter so much.

Interviewer- What kind of details?

Chandni- Everything from the camera work to editing. Like thinking should we use a close up to really show the characters emotions or long shots. I also learned a lot about timing. A romantic scene just doesn’t hit the same way if it's rushed. I had to spend so much time on editing making sure it looked

good.

Chandni- Like the scenes where Ethan sees Lily outside his window and when Lily walks down the stairs those scenes were so important I had to make sure i did not seem rushed.

Interviewer- So overall, what’s the biggest thing you learned.

Chandni- I learned that making a movie isn’t just about putting scenes together it's about creating a feeling. Every shot, every line and  every little moment matters, it's what makes the audience either laugh, cry or fall in love with the movie. Now every time I work on a new project I think about all that.

Interviewer- Talking about new projects… What's next?

Chandni- All I will say is that “A New Beginning” was just the start.

CCR #2

Heyy guys today I am working on my script for CCR question #2

  • How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?

For my first CCR  video I will be doing a podcast with my brother.

Host- Okay so I was reading some comments from your fans and @lina.17 said “I love Ethan so much I swear he is literally me” That made me come up with the question How does A New Beginning connect with audiences?

Chandni- That's exactly what I was aiming for. I wanted people to connect with my movie. It's all about those big, messy  and life changing moments .  Everyone’s been in a situation where they think What am I even doing with my life and that’s how  Ethan is, and some funny scenes from those awkward, relatable moments we’ve all had.

Host- Alright next question If this were a real movie release, how would you distribute it

Chandni- That's a great question we would start with some film festivals like Sundance or TIFF. Then aim for the streaming platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, or Hulu.

Host- So no big Hollywood premiere and no red carpet moment?

Chandni- I mean it would be really cool, people watching my movie on the big screen laughing at those awkward moments. Ethan blushing every time he sees Lily.

Host - Last question: Would you promote it on social media?

Chandni- Yes! I definitely would. Roms-coms do great on social media. Everyone making edits of Ethan and Lily that will get our movie more trending. We would post some behind the scenes, some clips and memes Instagram reels and Tiktok would love this.

Host- That sounds great!
